If you haven’t yet noticed how Daniel Wellington or similar inspired watches have caught on, then you might not notice the resemblance between the recognisable design cues that they share with the Tissot Everytime Swissmatic – a very sleek dress watch that stands in a different league of its own due to an automatic movement. The new Swissmatic movement is bound to thrill Tissot aficionados, with an immense power reserve of 75 hours. Upon strapping it on, the watch also sits relatively comfortably on the wrist, as the thin leather strap provides good fit and little slippage (albeit with a lesser-than-premium feel I’m more accustomed to). And that’s no real surprise, considering how the curvature of the lugs takes after that of modern smart watches, causing the watch to appear visually slimmer.

If that isn’t enough, the inclusion of domed sapphire glass is also a pleasant surprise, although that cannot be said about the lack of a butterfly buckle, which would have completed the look in a rather handsome manner. What’s remarkable that at only $760 RRP, the Tissot Everytime Swissmatic offers great value against other mid-priced brands like Seiko and Citizen, effectively heating up the competition in this segment.

Given the clean dial design, overall comfort, and a truly impressive power reserve, this ranks as one of the star buys at the NFW online watch shop. A must-see for any customer.
